Some Kind of Rest
Rudyard Kipling writes, “They shut the road through the woods/ Seventy years ago./ Weather and rain have undone it again,/ And now you would never know/ There was once a road through the woods/ Before they planted the trees.” The road here was gated for winter and buried under inches of snow when I visited. The entire forest, hushed by snow, felt expectant and hopeful. Let this image turn your home into a place of hushed expectation and hope. (Lost Lake)
